Bethlehem College Year 9 Noho
The Marae once again hosted the Bethlehem College Year 9 Noho in March 2016. The noho always starts on the Tuesday and runs through until Friday. The tauira all arrive on the Tuesday (about 250 students) to be called on. Afterwards two classes stay behind and then the other four classes head back to school.
Then the next day two classes come back and the other two leave and head back to school...this continues until all classes have had their turn staying at the Marae.
While here the tamariki head out on a hikoi with Papa Glen Knap to visit the Awa and also to Pukewhanake Paa.
Then they come back and do a couple of workshops of either, Mau Rakau with Ruatepupuke Tairi-Ngata, Haka with Tamati and Mahi Raranga with Aleigsha and Keimarire.
And just before kai the tamariki have a korero with Kuia Ngaronoa Reweti-Ngata and they also present their Mihimihi.
It is a once in a lifetime chance for many of the tamariki and also for some of the parents who said they have never been to a Marae ever in their life.
Bethlehem Primary Visit
On Wednesday 27th May 2015, the Marae had Bethlehem Primary Visit.
The Juniors spent the morning listing to Kuia Ngaronoa Reweti-Ngata, drawing pictures of the Marae and had a delicious morning tea.
The tamariki loved their time here so much that they sent us beautiful art work to show their appreciation....we look forward to having them back hopefully soon.
Amazing work Bethlehem Primary!!!!!
